Silke, pictured on the right, owner & front of house manager will be pleased to help. We usually open if we have at least 4 advance bookings; singles, couples, groups.
Opening Hours
Monday to Saturday lunch (open 12.30, service 1pm)
Monday to Saturday dinner (opens 6.45 service 7.30pm)
Sunday, lunch only from 12.30 - minimum 8 people
Sunday evening closed - except by special arrangement for groups of 12+
We are often fully booked but Silke will always try to fit you in or offer an alternative date.
We accept your booking by phone or email and take your deposit. Seasonal menu guidance is on the menu tab & we issue the menu options for you a week before your booked date. Some guests book several months ahead but we'll find a way to help.
We often welcome guests with special requests, food dislikes etc. It's a set menu & we can't always adjust it for individual preferences, except bespoke for large groups. We try to take account of requests if notified well in advance
Japanese garden
We no longer open our special Japanese garden for charity or garden groups. It became too much for us. Restaurant guests may be allowed access to the Japanese garden at our option if the weather is dry. Other garden areas are out of bounds for 2026/27 due to re-development of the design & necessary tree felling.
